The Report
Writer provides a powerful data analysis and reporting tool to the BDR Systems,
Inc. family of programs. It provides the ability to create ad hoc reports using
the relational database of the program. This option permits the user to
construct simple and complex reports that satisfy the unique requirements of
your company.
Feature Summary
Querying
- Wizard-driven process. The user selects fields and
tables. The Report Writer creates an optimized query transparently.
- Automatically creates Master/Detail/Break reports
with optional subtotals.
- Sorts on multiple fields, calculated fields. Filter
range limits may be set for each table or file.
Reporting
- WYSIWYG page oriented interface lets unsophisticated
users create and distribute a variety of complex, good looking reports,
using word processor like controls, such as single or double line spacing.
- Clear, intuitive tools for formatting and aligning
data.
- Controls fonts, font sizes, font styles, font colors
and background colors.
- Variety of standard report layouts
- Strong graphics support, including BMP, PCX, GIF,
JPG, and WMF file formats. Supports multiple detail reports.
Power User Features
- Expression builder aids creation of user-defined
filters.
- Create custom variables that prompt for a value when
the report is run; use for run-time filters or computations that manipulate
data.
- Conditional printing allows you to print a detail
band only when a record meets test.
